Do you use windows 98? have you heard about the problems? are you worried?
Chances are you can answer yes to at least one of those quesitons otherwise you woudn't be hear.
The news is that Microsoft is expected to issues a large scale bug fix for windows 98 after they admitted there "time-related issue".
They claim that it has nothing to do with the Millennium bug as it can only occur during the one minute between 11:59 and midnight of any December the 31st,
which of course includes 98-99. Which is why Microsoft have to respond quickly.
But of course it is not just this product that is effected it is also the reputation of Microsoft.
Millenum bug experts that have looked at the problem say that the faster you machine runs the less
likely it is that you will be hit by the bug.
It seems that they way Microsoft found out about the problem was when people have been
testing their computers to see if they were "millenium bug safe", and it was these people who have been hit by the problem.
So what do you do know? Well i would recomend you to goto microsoft.com as soon as possible; bye.
Well as you would have realised it is know 1999! So there was not any major problem. Well at least not date related.
The thing is that many people have not updated from 95 to 98 as so many people have found it difficult.
But then many people never install anything on there computer but would think about installing windows 98. So that may be part of the reason for the strange statistics.
So what is the advantage of windows 98?
Well personally I think the biggest reason for updating would be to have USB support.
Though you can get USB ports on windows 95 machines, there has been compatiblity problems.
Aslo if you have not ot an earlyer version of windows 95, or not got 95 Plus then you get even more advantages.
AS all of 95 + is in 98! It also has updated drivers, but you can get the latet of the companies FTP site.
The help files have also been majorly improved.
But what about this windows 2000?
Well windows 2000 is practiacally NT5! This is not really a suprise as Microsoft have to have a mojor realise for 2000, and this will definaly tern a few heads!
But though it is sure to be very cleaver, putting the best parts of bothn options together makes sense.
After all that is what Microsoft have done the hole lifes :)
If you are still here I assume that you have not got win98 so why not
Buy it now?
